Purpose of this tool

The poster size preview is a free tool that lets users visualize how a poster will look in their space. If you are looking to buy a poster, it is difficult to know how the poster will look just based on the dimensions. So this tool uses a calibrated image ratio to accurately display how the poster will appear on a wall. This way the users get a reference for how the poster sizes look and which is best for their space.

Is this tool accurate?

Yes, we have put a lot of effort into making the tool as accurate as possible. This was done by first taking a photo of the wall with a poster that we know the dimensions of. Then we removed the poster and took another image without moving the camera. Using the dimensions of the poster, we can then calculate the pixels per inch of the image. Then once we have the pixel per inch we can accurately convert the poster size in inches to pixels and display that on the image. Thus, with this method we are able to get an accurate preview of how the poster will appear in real life.

How do I use the tool?

Using the tool is simple and only takes a few steps. First, if you would like a more realistic preview, click the upload button to add your own poster image. This allows you to see your actual design instead of using a placeholder preview.

Next you can select your poster dimensions using the dropdown menu. There you will find many common sized poster dimensions to choose from. If your poster is a custom size, you can simply enter in the width and height of the poster in inches using the input fields provided.

After you pick the dimensions, the poster will automatically update to match the inputted size. This makes it easier to compare proportions and determine whether the size fits your room and furniture layout. This helps you visualize the different poster sizes and pick the one that best fits your space.
